Default Evo question

I know alot of you say the Evo 6 is a better car than the Escort Cosworth BUT if you were to forget about the evos 'handling' and 'standard power' is it STILL better than the escos???????

Thanks.

lol how many factors do you want to rule out?

Its newer than the Escort too

But imo i prefer the looks to an Escort but not sure i would have one over an Evo. But to be honest i dont think i would have either

To be honnest Chunny i got what i want with my Saff for an old Performance car and love it to bits. For me car from now on will be nearly new and from a up market brand. Though i will have to wait for some years before i move to this idea

What the fook does if you were to forget about the evos 'handling' and 'standard power' is it STILL better mean? If you buy a car they 2 big points, surely?

Well EVOs got far better brakes, far stronger transmisson, newer, nicer inside, IMO looks miles better (and not like a kitted base model ), what more do you want?

i think escorts are over priced. evos are 10k plus because there newish. escort cossies are out dated now imo. I know i will get slated for saying it but as 2 standard cars the evo is the better choice for value for money, although personally would prefere a esc cos.
BUT if you were to forget about the evos 'handling' and 'standard power' is it STILL better than the escos???????
isnt that what both these cars are about, its like saying forget about the power of a saph cos would you still have 1, not for 5k i wouldnt

imo i think both are a bit plasticy, couldnt justify spending 10k more on an escort than a saph when imo i dont think you are getting an extra 10k worth of car.

Of course a tuned esccos is an awesome car.

But as std its just fact that an evo is faster, better stopping, better handling, and has a far stronger transmission.

The EVO RS diff is practicly indistructible.

The normal AYC diff isnt as strong tho, but not incredibly weak.

And their gearboxes are hugely stronger

Itsmeagain, the choice is evo 6 or escort cosworth! (the wife wants a newer car ) but i would like either one to be tuned to around 350bhp or more depending on funds! This is why i would like to know which is better???

(not which is better as a standard car)

A 350bhp EVO is a nearly std car.
A 350bhp EscCossie isnt hugely tuned either.
But unless your uprating everything too (ie loadsa cash you dont want/need to spend) then the EVO will handle better n stop better.

And is a good 10 yrs newer

I've had escort cossies but i wouldnt go back to one unless i bought it for a run around while the evo's tucked away for winter. If your after a 6 TME mine might be up for grabs

I love EVO's, but the scort is one of the best looking cars ever made imo, far far more handsome than the EVO. The interior is far better than the plasticy evo too - ford interiors have always been comfy. They got shit brakes, and are really detuned as std. Ultimately, if u are tuning both, there's nothing between them, but id much prefer the escort. After that, it'd be an R34. They totally different again - heavy but clever.
