all the 3dr has is the lighting circuit, dash/dials and the ecu that needs power.

the batt is going in the boot so i of course a std one wont do as i dont want a facefull of acid if i bin it...

so, what one to go for?

As said a plastic box and std battery is cheaper, though a lot replaced due to weight in a track car.
AGM as in oddesey can still crack/break open in impact and shower you with acid, the bonus here is the gel helps to make it stick better to your skin!!

Optima are certainly good, they use a spiral agm, so are wet in that they have a gel, as they don't need topping up, and you can't as they are sealed a lot of makers call these dry, but this makes them very suitable for long periods of no use, as sulphation cannot occur.
Despite what is said give any battery enough impact and it will break, like anything else will.
