What are these pods all about then? Where I come from, your pods are your knackers. Which aren't really intended as a form of shelter.

If I'm thinking of the right place (Billing, near Northampton) there's a Premier Inn or similar just along the road for those that don't want to camp.

If the XR4i passes the SVA I might be up for it, but it would depend on date and event.

Yes that's the place

Driven past there a million and one times, but can't remember whether I've ever been there for a show or not. Something's telling me I have, but I can't remember what

Id be up for it for a laugh you can make tents quite comfortable if they are big enough and you have fold out chairs, fold out bed etc LAst time i went camping i had a 3kw fan heater, laptop, fridge and phone chargers all hooked up you need caravan electric lead though!!

Stopping in a Premier Inn means you'd miss a lot of the fun though.

I'd be up for it - last time i went to Billing was genuinely comical - although, the staff had a distinct "couldn't care less" attitude.

Which worked out pretty handy for us

Tent would probably be ok but i'd be worried about max being stuck in a tent all night, he hates being inside the house so might get hot, and dont really trust leaving him tied up outside cos i could see it being a clip from carry on him running down the road with the tent stuck to him

That pod would be called a mansion in many areas of Africa

I got 2 weeks off in middle of july so up for a laugh!!

Although im NOT cooking for everyone Usually when i go camping i end up cooking for everyone as all the girls were silly enough to get half drunk on the way so when they went to supermarket to buy food, they were already half cut so forgot the food and just bought booze

You know its a good camping trip when you have to call an ambulance for someone whose comatose due to drink, and get a farmer to use his tractor to tow the stuck cars off the field

Can I just add, those of you that like a bit of electric in their tent, I think it works out at Ł26 per night.

Billing's great, been down there a few times.

And you can also have tents around them too! So i think i could just about cope with one of them!

Peak season works out at Ł20 per night, for 4 people in one tent and one car. And an additional Ł10 per car.

Again just an idea, and thought id get a feel for who would be up for it... probably not until Julyish time though!
i'll fly back to the uk if you want to share a pod together ,lol

Thats not too bad per plot if you get a monster tent for 4. plus we can share the electric between the whole group if needs be so the rest can get cheaper "non electric" plots.

Do they have a campfire areas or have they all been banned on H&S at large campsites now??? Ive always gone to the smaller places or scout/ charity run sites as you can do campfires if your responsible usually.

Doing marshmellows on the gas stove just isnt quite the same

You can plug in an extension as long as your careful not to overload the supply!

If it were me, id sacrifice the kettle for a coolbox/fridge electric supply!! You can boil water for drinks on a gas stove in a couple of minutes anyway.

I know mate, and I have an electric coolbox too! Well equipped up here. Just wish the weather was better cos it put a damper on the camping last year did our typical british weather....
