maybe you should get a mobile tuner around who only charge Ł25
for anyone remotley interested I ve just been in to NMS this morning I did mention this thread
Karls reply was "we dont answer e mails any longer" as it takes far too much time and then people never come
so guys "pick the phone up" people on the other end dont bits and it saves hours of wasted time when a 5 min phone call does it all

Is it really worth live mapping a standard Cossie?

Then it would really be near to stage 1 sort of thing......

you do not need a live map for a standard cossie chap!best bet is to ring and ask them how much a set up is bud sure it will be around the 150-200 mark

Gents, there is a difference between a live map & set up

stu at MSD charges Ł150+ vat for a set up
Mark at MADevelopments charges Ł170 ish if i remember correctly

a live Map is Ł500+

took a trip up jamsport and jamie mapped it on dta, the result was amazing cost 700 quid but it was like driving a different car

when i get some siemens on the saph im definatly heading up towards nms or stu in my mind its well worth the money

Well, I was just after a rough price and did not want to waste there time asking for just advice when that would not earn them money. I Hate to put people out, I know they have better things to do. It was simply a quick enquiry, would hate it if they said,

well do you want to book it in?

To let them down thinking I was a time waster...

Will make the call when I am ready to book her in

But it waists more of there time replying to emails than it does answering the phone

The truth is ( as you say ) you are more worried about saying NO if they asked if you wanted it booking in , WHY, as you were ringing up for a quote only . and to be honest they would have had to ask you quite a few questions about your car anyway , and even then the price would depend on what they find when they got the car .

I dont reply to emails or texts myself as i find 99% are timwasters , same as withheld numbers , whats that all about

If they are serious they will call , MY opinion that is

Maybe I will ring them up then Mr.Linfoot. I was'nt expecting a quick reply just a reply when they get a minute if you know what I mean. Doubt they will be open until Tuesday now though.

My number is withheld because I am x directory, I was told if you dial somehthing like 1474 before the number it will release it for that call only. Sure I am not the only one x directory.

I would rather a email as a phone call stops me working where a email I can reply in the evening while drinking tea

Alpina off here just had his Saph live mapped, Karl kept it a week and I believe it was Ł400 for the live map then a bit more for a few other bits Karl/Ollie felt needed sorting.

Great service by the sounds of things and its totally transformed the car from what it was, I'll point Alpina to this thread as I know he was VERY happy with the service and results.

I concur with what JB says above - charged me 400 + vat for Live Map recently, got charged a small amount extra for some Denso plugs and a repair to my wiring loom - overall great service, runs so hard now, clean revving, smooth, really could not have gone better - very happy.

Call them NOW!

what he said email is the way off the world today lets face it easier to answer a quiery while you watching eastenders than phone ringing while you trying to chuck a gearbox in to just give a price.

Thats ok if you are sat at a computer all day , Im not and dont even have a computer at work because i probs would spend all day on it and get sod all done

I always replied to emails a few years ago but got next to nothing back ( ie sales ) so stopped bothering as i came to the opinion most of the emails were from board office workers who were killing time and had nothing better to do than ask totaly stupid questions and ask for cossie engine prices because they were day dreaming at work and had a brain wave about putting a cossie engine into there lawn mower

I find that if people are serious then they will call

Gotta say when I got mine back from NMS with livemap the difference between that and the mapping from PJ was night and day. I'd never hesitate to go back to the boys at NMS.

Tell me about it

I think tho Stu your website will be very well laid out with a idiot proof description of what your items do and dont do , almost answering most questions within your description.

Also selling new items etc people sort of know what they do etc

I get all the idiot ," will a cossie gearbox fit my Nova "

There are so mant questions that i know need to be asked when buying second hand items that a quick 2 min phone call realy makes things easier

I find with email that it takes many many emails back and forth to get to what the 2 min call does

I know more and more people know have access to the net all day , but sadly people like me who are hands on dont , and this means a phone call just works better for us , dont get me wrong when im under a car removing a gearbox a call may get left unanswered but then again so would the email

I'm happy with the power to be honest Pete. Maybe a little more, like say 280 with about 16psi.

Just concerned about reliablility and I don't want to spoil it as it is completely untouched from the factory (apart from exhaust).

Not much point in a live map for me then. I'll have to give NMS a ring and book it in one weekend in May or June for a set up.

Interesting comments on the communication though
