Braun GP
Surely this is pretty much unheard of?
Brand new GP team; first outing both drivers qualify 1+2 and finish 1+2, second outing get a pole and a win - even tho they've never tested with certain tyres nor raced in the rain?!?!?!?
Ferrari must be kicking themselves for losing Braun
Seriously impressed with that team so far - nice to see Jensen (finally) getting some limelight and success after a lot of years in the sport, and nice to see Barricello(sp) back in the action aswell....
But strange to see the Ferrari's and McLarens so far down the field so much of the time. Roikenen's(sp) fallen off, Hamilton's fallen off, Alonso's fallen off - all the "big players" are trailing and the "underdogs" are shining through!
Plus, Glock did damn well today, and once the rain came out, the Red Bull team were fooking flying!
Could be an interesting year!

mate this car is the honda 2009 car. honda had been developing this car with full resorces as they gave up with the 2008 car before that season started, so i am not suprised tbh

Still an impressive start for a team that is weeks old! Speaking to a honda/braun chap over the weekend and he said that the old engine was what was holding them back. The move to merc engines has stepped there game up!

Its irrelevant but if Honda were still in i bet they would be no where near where they are now all down to the engine.

there will be those that will say wait for the proper tracks but i think braun has been the driving force behind what can only be understood as unbelievable if braun had been in charge of Ferrari without jean Todd they would not have had the problems they had with engine failures that's french ideas make it really fast but forget to make it reliable this seems like the only thing British to be turning out to be successful

Either way - this is all great news for the sport. Loving watching it all

The chassis on the Brawn GP car seems truly awesome, remember they are the same engines that the Mclarens are on, yet the Mclarens aren't touching the Brawn cars on the track.
I think they have an excellent all round package and i think Ross Brawn is indeed the figurehead the team needs to bring them to success, much like Dave Richards was before Honda moved him on when they took over...

Button has yet to finish a race NOT behind the safety car. Although, a win is a win and after the last 7 years.....I'd be ecstatic too. Its only the second race, Spa and Monaco are to be the true tests of success. If Button can manage to keep his head in it, he'll probably do well. Ferrari is not done, Mclaren is not done. Toyota is looking sharp and Vettel, he's really good.
Anyone catch Raikonnen in the garage wearing short pants and T-shirt while eating an ice-cream cone and grabbing a Coke from the fridge. I was absolutely pissin' myself, here is a team scrambling together for a possible re-start and Kimis' in the kitchen looking for a snack.

As much as I hate him, hamilton was really working the KERS to full effect, a god 2-3 lap battle with webber, with more overtaking than there was in the whole of last season!
hoping for a good one! might actually start watching the racing and not just the pits!

braun, the name as used by the electrical goods manufacturer that usually gets pronounced brawn in england is actually the german word for the colour brown, and is in fact pronounced the same as brown

So that's why Kubica keeps calling it Brown racing in his interviews! I just thought he was a bit simple! my bad

Buttons drive was very Shumacher-esque yesterday. Scythed his way past Alonso unlike Barichello, bridged the gap to the leaders, pressurised them and then blasted out some really killer laps whilst they had their pit stop. He drove very well and kept his head in the wet and would have won by a long way IMO. The point American made about the safety car is irrelevant. He had planty in reserve in OZ too, if you examine the lap times he was never going to be caught.
Interesting to see Raikonnen take the decision to go to full wets yesterday in hot dry conditions
Also Ross Brawn alluded to the loopholes in the aero rules 12 months ago, and said unless they change them ( and he provided details of what needed changing ) that the Honda would wipe the floor with the rest of them. They laughed and ignored him.

ST by Name and by Nature
Very exciting start to the F1 year, hate McLarens win at all costs attitude, my favourite is Williams, they punching above their weight for non-manufacturer team.
Agree, best bit in Malaysia was Kimi sticking 2 fingers up at Ferrari, driving a car in pouring rain with dodgy KERS system, you can stuff that, I'm off.

Good to see Williams at the sharp end. One of they very few teams capable of running two equal cars IMO

And then Honda generously paid Jenson a loyalty bonus! Mysteriously the same amount.
Imagine you giving me a wing mirror that i really wanted, and me leaving £20 on the table because you're a friendly chap who's helped me out. But i've not bought that wing mirror off you have I?

Very sad time at the team at the mo and i feel bad for martin as he's the one thats gotta try and salvage something from a shit start to the season, let alone all this other shit thats going on now.
End of the day the car was developed too late and its showing, and now with a merc engine brawn are stirring up a shit storm it seems!! Deff the shake up F1 needs!!
