Default Private plate question

I want to buy a private plate - but DVLA are not listing it on their site...is there anyway to find out if its currently on a car or available to buy through the various/millions of number plate sites without having to sit and go through every single site?

cheers for any help!

right...checked up on my vehicle check.com and they say 'The registration number you entered doesn't exist in our database'

DVLA says 'Sorry, all these possible combinations have already been sold and are not available to purchase from DVLA'

am i right in thinking someone has it, but aint put it on a vehicle...so possibly for sale or just sat in someones room lol?

pm me the reg and ill have a look at work to see on a few dvla programs ( ok 2 of em) but there both based on MAM anyway just ones got better info that the other

as for the details, its data protection but anyone whos a balif can get access to details based on a reg, the council has details and i belive that autoglass also have access though not too sure about if thats true or not

police cant do it for favors anymore either and a few have told me that too so must be a little more strict about data protection than back in the old days
