gripper 7.5 diff cos power limit ?
im thinking of getting a gripper 7.5" diff for my cosworth. i have 470 bhp 350 lbft.
my torque is low compared to some cars but even so 1 launch kills a standard diff instant
diff has started whining now and dont want to repair/replace again with standard. ive got the rear suspension set as hard as i can and car doesnt squat a huge ammount so thats not whats killing the diffs.
anyways does anybody know what a 7.5" gripper is rated to in bhp and torque ?

A guy on here is selling a Dome built 7.5" diff with a 3.9 cwp, as already mentioned though the issue isn't always with the diff and the only real solution is a Jag diff or a 9" if your feeling flush.

Jag is the cheaper route, Danny B would be your best bet really although I'd do some research on whats involved in fitting one as you may be able to tackle the job yourself. Use Baily Morris for the prop and any other bits you may need.
I'm not sure what ratio cwp comes in the Jag diff but I do believe Rod is just using a stock geared one without any issues

If you hammer it hard all the time the CWP will break...
I ran a std cwp for 5 years and i think i broke 7 in that time but i do use drag/track tyres and nos too so prob around 500ftlb,
If you are mainly running road tyres i doubt you'd break the 7.5in cwp for a couple of years at least, maybe never break it.
If you did break it however a couple of hundered quid should see it fixed and then you could sell it on for good money if you ever wanted to upgrade further.
