Righty - All done - fully clayed, Megs Gold and the car is absolutely gleaming 
Not bad for nearly 11 hours work
- I've been at it since 10 this morning doing the entire car, the interior is spotless, the engine bay immaculate with all plastics and visible bits polished/back-to-blacked etc etc.
Properly impressed - I can see why concourse people do what they do

Yep made a great difference on my white escort van.......
Mate sprayed a dumper truck in his workshop and didnt cover the van properly....... van looked mint till i clayed it on tuesday and clay was yellow after but you couldnt notice it on the paint
Really does bring the paint to life and a good poilshing session makes it all worhwhile

gracie,i could make you feel really bad about doing it. it may feel good now compared to before but you can only really tell if its done perfectly by getting a cigarette pack cellophane and put your finger in it and then rub it across you paint.
it will feel like you havent done it
and for the people just using water. its not advisable at all.water doesnt have the slipperiness that a detailer does.and can cause scratching and marring.
you should also spray the clay with detailer as well as the panel

I clayed my car the other day, I thought it looked good before, but the difference was unbeleiveable!
As above though, I use water instead of that detailing spray, as you can put loads of water on all over the panel rather than having to use the detailing spray sparingly.
Then give it another quick wash after to get any remaining shite off!

Its made for 'quik detailing' isnt it?
Doesn't mention anything on the back of the bottle about being made for a clay lube....
I fully understand what you are saying but I've clayed many many cars many many times with a flow of water going over the panel as I do it, and I have never seen any surface marring as a result.....

Nick - I was of the same thought process as you, but the results are amazing

Must say I'm now a fan of Autosol aswell as it has cleaned the stainless exhaust tips no end

Testing the future
looks nice - except the number plate. i like the style of the pressed german ones, but not the D. you also can't drive it to the 'ring with those on. well, you could do as you did with plates that said 'MINGE' but it would be illegal.

Gracey- What are Old Bill like with those plates?? Are they the pressed steel ones?
I had them on the ERST but removed them as they are bait for a pull....i do like them though, would like to re-fit but i'm sure they are just classed as "show plates"

The plates are the illegal pressed ones yes - So far (they have been on over a week) and with all the motorway miles I do I see loads of plod, especially finishing work at 1am - so far, no problems (I'll go make sweet love to a tree now )
Nick - I know they won't go down well in Germany - But who cares, MINGE went down a treat all the 600 miles I did out there from the ferry to the 'Ring and back and all the 'Ring time too
I did get a funny look from a riot van full of plod a couple of night ago in Leeds center - didn't help that my mate I was giving a lift home was staring at them like a cunt though
But they left me alone
