I for one wont grizzle if Max goes through the hoop!
Some old names on this thread, Greg Emmerson, Jim Blackstock etc. Brings back some good memories of good mag journalism in the early 1990's. Some good features were done on Cosworth stuff too.
Anyone remember Top Car?? It didnt run for long but did a few good features on Cossie stuff. Some prominent Ford tuners used to advertise in it too.
I bet VBH wouldnt even acknowledge she worked on Max P now!

This has been a really interesting read, it's nice to get a behind the scenes of what goes on.
Does anyone remember the 'bit no one reads besides you' in the front of Max P.

Used to love all the Revs challenges!
Remember the first one (I think?) Uno Turbo that Neil bought in the dark?
Didn't Neil always win them? Bought that Pug 309 GTi that won too I think?
And remember the Revs 'How Low' challenege where they tried to get an old school BMW and Cavalier as low as possible!

As most of the post have said here. I used to buy FC, MP, Redline,Revs, FF and Pf religiously each month, every month. Did enjoy reading them all, each had their own faults but I must admit I did enjoy Revs over MP/FC. It was much more to the DIYer as apposed to the cheque book !
I also remember a trip to a Donny Show which Revs Mag paid for so we could throw flames around the arena whilst the Fireforce Drag car was being prepped, was sooooo much fun, and I got to met Jakki Degg ! hmm !
Don't buy any of them now though. The Cossie went ages ago and has been replaced with a 'sensible' family car... I must be getting old

ST by Name and by Nature
In the early days Fast Car was actually quite good, but then tried compete with Max P and lots of girlie pics etc, nothing wrong with that, just not in car mags for me.

I think max power is complete shite!! i read it for a very short time and what that mag told me to do was speed everywhere, cut off old people, tell the police to fuck off and make their lives as difficult as possible, and make sure i take some class A, or alcohol prior to doing a 100 burn out up my road outside the local school, so i can pull some teeny school girls.

Just that I agree that what you typed in the first paragraph is absolute bollox. The only reference to old people I can remember was that they smell of wee and a free sticker that said "Lower than your grannys nipples" in one of the issues
Cheers,
Grant

dont know about respoding in caps, the absolute bollox was just a summery!! i have read so much shit in that mag, hence why i started reading fast ford, i remember there being a drug driving in a skyline report, with the guy doing coke of a nasty mingers leg, if that isnt glamorizing drug driving i dont know what is. thats one example!!
i recall something about a driving test the MAX POWER way, "go for some drinks and then take the test", i cannot remember much else at the minute.
