There is some stuff you can do for free - all the casinos try to outdo each other so you can watch the dancing fountains at the Bellagio, a 'volcano' erupting outside the Mirage etc. etc. and easily kill an evening or two that way.

Only other thing i noticed was that there's nowhere to eat except inside any of the hotels/casinos. Not even a McDonalds/Cafe/Coffee Shop to be seen!

Going to be in Las Vegas for 3 days, Can you tell me the company you booked the helicopter and lunch in the Canyon. I want to do this as an extra!!!!
We did the canyon tour by plane. It included the ‘skywalk’ (have a look on the net for info http://www.grandcanyonskywalk.com/ you couldn’t take cameras / loose clothing / bags etc on it so I don’t have any pictures but you do have the option of buying pictures taken by them ). We also got a Indian style lunch on the rim (very similar to Mexican). This is the place we ate lunch, it all runs on solar :

The west rim is owned by the Indians and therefore H&S was far more relaxed than I would have expected, this for me added to the experience. There are no safety rails / warnings etc and you are free to wonder around without supervision etc, so long as you are back at the airstrip for your flight they are not bothered how you spend your time there – I guess you could sit on the skywalk all day if you wanted …

The only warning we were given was from the woman that explained where everything was when we first arrived “You can go as close to the edge as you want, if you slip you will die. We haven’t had anyone slip that survived …” Might be a ‘tourist’ warning but defo possible

I am not sure who we booked our trip with but the GF found details of it on expedia and the airline we flew with was either ‘king airways’ or ‘king airlines’. They had a special offer on and it only cost us Ł122 per person all in including hotel pickup / drop off, lunch, skywalk etc. Total door to door time was probably about 7 hours. We took the first tour of the day so it wasn’t very busy – there was only about six of us on the skywalk at any one time and about 8 of us in the plane This was my seat on the trip back :

There are some more pics I posted further up this thread.

Off topic a bit but any film buffs recognize these places ?

Also found a flight on the 4th June for Ł293 all in with KLM (I used to use these when I worked in Amsterdam and are fine). It does have a stop in Minneapolis but only for a couple of hours though but worth it for the saving.
I don’t know what the rooms / prices are like there but it was cool inside and looked a lively place to stay. They have got kind of an indoor street theme going on with pubs / fast food / restruants etc running 24 7

I got my souvenir t shirt from there with a dolly bird waitress on - City of sin casino and lounge – Liquer in the front, Poker in the rear… The GF doesn’t seem see the funny side ?

If I was going with the lads it would be at the top of my list for places to stay along with the Hardrock (a little bit off the strip though but they do put a free bus service on) and possibly PH

Did enjoy Florida - but prefer West coast - surrounding areas of Vegas appeal more - particularly short drive to San Fran
