cosworth 4x4 thermostat

just wondering if any one can help me out as iam not shore if the thermostat in my sapphire 4x4 cosworth is opening up enough as it only seem to open up about 2cm and i was wondering if it should be more than that

2cm is quite a big opening,would imagine thats enough although to be honest i have never done the hot water trick to see how much a stat actually opens

2cm is huge, well for a stat anyway, I would say about 8-10mm is normal.

buy another one then test that to see how they compare.

this is the third one i've had in a couple of mouths the first one i got from helfords and it didn't open at all the second one i got from some where esle didn't open either and this one is form the same plase and it only seem to open about 1cm looking at it agian today
