Default focus short shifter

hi, ive got a 1999 model focus 1.8 zetec and i was wondering theres a quickshift available for this year, ive come across 2000-2004 model but thats it.

any help, cheers brad.

Yes - try motorsportdirect or similar. You have an IB5 box - same short shifter for the 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 foci. 2.0L and diesels use mtx75 and have a different mechanism.

They dont need one do they cause the gear change is spot in and nice and precisie.

I agree, I have driven a focus with a short shifter and I didn't like it, far too heavy and clunky.

Leave it alone IMO!

My mam has a mk 1 focus 51 reg and it drives beautiful.The grear change is just so nice and would properly say its better gear change than my quick shift on my cossie.

to be honest, thinking about what yous have said i agree as well. previous car was a 206 and it was without doubt the worst ive ever driven, VERY loose and notchy. i just love the stubby gearstick you get with a shortshifter, is there any way of modifying the standard 1 to shorten it?

Ive noticed that wirh peugots to the gear sticks are like sturring soup lol.
