Just out of interest. As I plan out what car to get next summer these are on the list for consideration, but only as a 3dr cause I like the thought of a cossie kit on it.
Please don't hound me out of town for the above statement!

all of the models are available in a 3 door, but the GTi is quite rare and not that many were made.

Mk6 Cossie rep. Please don't chap, leave that sort of behaviour to the Max Power kiddies.
Personally I'd go for an early Mk5 RS2k (with bonnet bulges) and then maybe add some Cossie styling like the front grill and the lower rear spoiler. When done nicely it looks so sweet
Isn't there a 4x4 version of the RS2k on the Mk6 as well?

Most powerful I can get is a 1.8SI insurance wise. I just love the wide arch look on the mk6 though.... maybe not a whale tail but the arches and a WRC spoiler or the lower Cossie spoiler would look OK IMO.

no probs
for a goodun i expect around £1800 - £2400
i payed £4500 for mine in jan, but its got a 2.0l engine in it had had a shit load spent on it. (over £8k now in total) still got throttle bodies and new management to go on, then ill want circa £5k for it (should be around 200bhp aswell)
not too sure on the used car market at the mo, take a look on autotrader for similar specced cars and compare prices
