Computer peeps - how do you set up a website?
My family have set up a small business and want to have a very simple website, BUT, i've not a clue where to start, how hard is it to do and what sort of costs are involved?
Basically we'd only need a page or two with a couple of pics, price and phone number.
Thanks in advance

www.weebly.com
get on there and set up a website, its all click and drag stuff, very very easy.its free to use, unless you want a proper .com or .co.uk name for the site, but then its about 10 quid a year or something for the name.the site in my sig was done on that website.was the easiest setup i could find whilst trawling the net,and im really not massively computer geeky literate at all.

i shall try the aforementieond sites when i get home as i've always wanted to "have a website" even if it was just to post "this is me and the things i get up to"
but another question along the same lines:
imagine you have a site called, for example www.thisistheinternet.com
and on that site you have lots of links to other bits of that site, so 10 links to 10 different pages, do you need to have 11 pages worth of web addresses then or do you noly have 1 page, the first one, and then the rest of the links are generated from that page?
do you need to host the other linked pages somewhere else without having to buy them and provide for their upkeep?

Dojj - your domain name (for example www.thisistheinternet.com) can hold as many pages as you like, in conjunction with a 'hosting' package (the storage space for the web pages, images etc). The first page that loads up by default when you visit that domain name would be the homepage (which must be named index.html or similar), then you can make other pages eg. page1.html, page2.html etc and link to them.
So you pay the same amount for hosting, whether you have 1 page or 100 pages.
I make websites for a job, so drop me a PM if your interested in me building you something.
