My daughter (3 years old) is currently taking Phenoxymethylpenecillin for tonsilitus.

Is it ok to also give her calpol.

I know its a strange thing to ask here but NHS helpline has a 4 hour wait, very useful. I have looked on the net but cannot find an answer.

as someone thats not a massive fan of medicine, or Giving kids calpol all the time i would say no.

im sure the medicine provided should be sufficiant.

Im not saying you are but lots of parents just dose the kids up with calpol for an easy life which i am massively against.

My mates sister feeds her baby it on a dummy so its a subject close to me at the moment

 

i dont know the answer (no help i know)

but i personally wouldnt take the risk in giving the wee one some calpol and having both in the kids system

It is not advisable to give two different medinces at one time. I have a baby cousin and we was told this by a private hospital.

penecillin and calpol are fine together, and actually itll help if shes got a bit of a temperature with it too.

calpol doesn't mean it's going to make it better or worse, but it's normally safe to use with other types of kiddie medicines

the age of the child and the dosage is where the complications arise so i'd read the directions onthe side first before contemplating giving it
