Valued at about a quarter million quid IIRC the one at luton.
I believe thats the 740bhp one with the carlton diesel block.
Was having a good look over it recently at a show if its the same one, it really is an amazing piece of engineering!

I bet the people in the 5th Gear production office are pissing themselves with all this bickering going on.
New RS is nice though, snot green is not for me however.

ST by Name and by Nature
Good to see both old cars head to head and the new Focus RS, but both items far too short, 5th gear then waste 10-15 mins with Tiff pratting about in a plane. I thought it was a CAR show!!!

having had a few mates who have the 16V gte and a few mates who had rst's, in a straight line dash it was pretty much even between both cars
when it came to handling, the rst was marginally better
when it came to stopping the rst was a lot better
the astra was much better on fuel though and as a normal "car" as opposed to the rst
then they were both modded and the sheer abundance of bits for the rst made it a much better car
this is all harking back 10-12 years ago and we were just your run of the mill drivers who didn't claim to be better than anyone else (other than the guy in the 306D that said he was quicker than anything else on the planet, even though his best 0-60 time was just under 20 seconds )
no one could keep up with a stage 1 4be saph though
