Default 11 year old with gun - Legally??

So, he shot his fathers pregnant girlfriend dead with a 20-gauge shotgun that he was allowed to have and needed no license for, but he was able to kill with it?

Fucking ace. What a bright idea. Good old yanks.

In that particular state it is legal to carry a firearm at 14 years of age anyway.

There's a whole lot of difference between 11 and 14 years of age. 14 is still not old enough IMO, but 11 is just plain ridiculous.

Exactly and it is for this reason that it is morally wrong to allow someone that is too young to even understand the consequences of their actions to use something with which they can take a life.

its america what did you expect??? Lots of young people as young as 11 and YOUNGER shoot guns in america. Shooting is perfectly safe sport if SUPERVISED and in a safe environment - FACT.

The issue here is that a child was allowed unsupervised access to a firearm in the home, and that is wrong anywhere in the world IMO.

I wish all the Anti-gun lot, MAG groups etc would actually get thier heads out thier arses and use a bit of common fucking sense. Guns are perfectly safe in the correct environment with supervision. They are NO more dangerous than a car/ power tool etc. They all have the capability to kill if misued. Get over the "gun" thing. The only bad guns in UK society are the illegally owned ones in the hands of criminals.

I agree that age they should not have guns, but it is thier way of life, makes me laugh when they say "oh no another gun massacre", really surprised they sound, what do they expect when you can go into a supermarket and buy a gun like a can of coke, there would never be mis-use, every country has mis-use problems with most things, where the guns outnumber the people it is obvious what the outcome will be.
Yes the dad was a idiot for leaving it there accessible, but only 1 of thousands in the us I'm sure.
I reported a yank lad in my school as he came in with a saturday night special
(small .22), he and his dad got busted.

The 20-gauge shotgun used in the shooting is designed specifically for children

I agree in principle with the right to bear arms, but only in an ecudated and morally strong society, which rules out america and england IMHO

Nah allow guns but you have to demostrate a certain level of IQ both theretical and practical to rule out the lazy shits

Then the people we want to keep in society (ie reasonable intelligence, people who arent workshy) will have access to guns and can eliminate scum as they see fit
