I'm currentley restoring my cabbie which is in a garage of a mate of mine, now i'm not 100% sure if his garage is covered under his home/buildings insurance and it's a bit rude asking if it is. If something does happen i don't really wanna claim under his policy - that would really pi$$ him off

What i'm worried about is - God Forbid - something happening to the car while in mid resto in this garage.

Is there such a a thing as an insurance policy covering cars that are being rebuilt and/ that are resting for the winter period??

Is it 'Layed Up' insurance what i'm looking for? And is it expensive?

I think you can just ring up any company mate and get Fire and Theft only cover... no 3rd Party. Not 100% sure on that though.

yeah most do, still gonna be a bit tho....suppose you could just whack it on <1000 miles per year, garaged, security features : no engine, wheels, interior or moving parts

I vaugly remember PhilM telling me is cost him about Ł80 a year to insure his S2 when it was off the road. Again, could be wrong on that.
