Default Greenlight refused to insure me? WTF do they advertise here?

It's a website for owners of performance Fords, I call up and they refuse me based on my postcode? WTF?

Greenlight Insurance specialise in Modified Car Insurance, Sports & Hot Hatch Car Insurance and Kit Car Insurance. We are also able to offer quotations for Japanese Import Car Insurance and Classic Car Insurance.

Same here mate, they refused me on an Evo and it was because it was an Evo and nothing to do with the postcode as we are in a low risk area.
Bizarre innit?

imo so called performace insurers are just the same as any other company out there...

have had so many "performance" cars over the years and not one has been insured with "hyperformance supercar insure you with 12 points and a DR10 flux"

stick to tesco, asda and elephant...

I've never had trouble getting a quote, and my postcode is apparently listed as F* (refer), ie. a warzone, according to an old list I had lying around a while back...

Then again, my car is only group-10.

All the mainstream insurers wouldn't qoute me with lots of modifications and thats just for group 12 car and a 25 year old.

Because they advertise on here you a "risk" worth taking on?

nah it doesn't work like that!

They'll have their reasons...

Why won't insurers give you reasons either. It annoys me to be refused cover and they won't say why.

No shit - you haven't got a licence !

Always had nothing but excellent service from them .

My Escort is insured with them (although it isn't partularly cheap for a 35 year old at 75p under £1k). However, all mods are declared .

Speak to Neil, he will take time to explain stuff to you as well, and he is a proper enthusiast (even though he drives a hardresser's car ).

greenlight wanted £1200 for my car
i paid £630 to adrian flux after ringing round
i doubt very much that the likes of tesco elephant etc would touch a car thats modified to almost double its standard horsepower let alone offer an agreed valuation. i may be wrong, i never checked this year because past experience tells me such companies dont like modified cars

Strange, as mine is insured for £20k - the most they would do at the time. But I took my policy out in 2002 and have been with them ever since...

THAT WAS BEFORE I HAD MY LICENCE TAKEN AWAY. They would n't insure Lisa on her own either but now with all mods declared and £17000 value, with NO NO-CLAIMS it's £1090 with another company, including Europe, with no exclusions. When I tried to get a quote with neil he was not that helpful TBH

Shit happens mate, I got banned for 18 months for racing, which is more than most DD's get, and the fine was HHHUUUUGGGGGEEEEE, but that's life, people do silly things, but that doesn't make them cvnts.

Well Greenlight insured by Escort for a year or 2 a while back. Was happy with the service. But wouldn't cover an M3. Reason quoted was "Lots of them were stolen in the 90's" So I asked about a Sapphire, and was told "Oh that's no problem"

They weren't alone in that, M3's are a nightmare to get insurance for.

Matt

Im with Bell Direct and Im actually VERY happy, knocked £400 off come renewal time. (Bit of a suspect area I live in) And sent me all the forms up front. Unlike lots of other companies that you have to chase for 6 months to actually send you the paperwork that you've paid for.
