Xbox or PS2?

Not had a new console since I got a PS1 5 years ago
so I'm WELL out of touch...
Initial thought was PS2 all the way - I love Gran Tourismo and the various Tomb Raider games, but my mate is telling me to get an X Box
Needless to say it will be getting chipped, so ease of doing this is a consideration (I'm fairly handy with a soldering iron
)
Any help much appreciated!

i've had the PS2 a few years now & the X-BOX about a year,
when i first got the X-BOX i did'nt think much of it,,,, untill i got used
to it,, its the nuts!!
if i had to choose between them it would be hard, i would say the X-BOX
is the better unit, but the PS2 has a better choice of games.
get both

xbox any day, you can chip it and store games on the hard drive, fit a bigger one if needed, its superior to ps2 in every way. imo its only going to be worth having a ps2 for gt4, and thats not till next year sometime, if it doesn't get put back again...

Both are easy to chip if you have to know how
X Box gets my vote it has really good graphics and because of the amount of games you can store on the hard drive, well over 2000 including the best game ever, Mariokart

there i a chip for the xbox that lets you play ps2 games... what more excuse do you need? best of both worlds!! i have a link for the site about that chip if your interested

i got an xbox crystal 3 weeks ago and its the bollocks !!
and next year forza motorsport is out on the box which is supposed to be giving gt4 a run for its money

well i got both the ps2 and xbox so i never had this whats better problem. (obviously it depends if you got the cash to do so) but to be honest, i was thinking of selling one of them and the x-box sprang to mind the most, but i don't think 1 is better than the other, i think they both have their good & bad points
i like them both equally!
agree with the matey tho, be warned xbox is by microsoft, so you WILL be helping them out too!!!
