ive had a beetle on ebay this week and there was tonnes of interest in the car.
it ended today but i got an email asking if i would sell it for £500 more than it was cureently at and could i have contact number......later on that day a witheld number rang-african lady who could barely speak english.........what did it need,could i deliver it peckham london etcetc.so i say yes i could but you would have to place a bid.
so then a bid appears on the car and they win it for 1850.they have 3 positive feedback- all by the same seller who is no longer registered-and that seller had 7 pos feedback,6 by another no longer registered user and 1 by the buyer of my car-all seems a bit suss,especially as they are registered in ireland,not london.
anyway i ask them for a contact no and ive been bombarded with witheld number calls for the last 2 hours which i dont wish to answer because i have been watching a film with my family.they then try to call me from an irish number..i would have thought that after 10 or so unanswered calls you would leave it until the next day....ignorant fuckers.
ive emailed them and told them i do not wish to deal with them and will be reporting them to ebay.

absolute timewasters-..............must be a new thing now-get a feedbacks from someone then try a scam.

quite right mate , a dont deal with anybody that phones me with a witheld number a tell them to phone back with there contact number as cant take anybody serious when they,vo got a witheld number . its like they,ve something to hide .

Not exactly hard for them to get an unregistered prepay mobile though to be fair.

 

what is the scam? im not getting it? they have suspiscious feedback maybe which probably is themselves bumping up their rating as no one will deal with 0 rated buyers and theyve tried to contact you on a with held number but other than that?

 

im reporting them so i can claim back the fees i will be charged for selling the item ........... surely that makes sense?
im fucked if im paying the £40 or so just to be fucked about.

if someone who could barely speak english asked you to deliver a car to peckham and then you find out they live in ireland-then check out their feedback which is 3 and all from the same seller.then go on that sellers feedback which is all from the same seller etc etc-who are now all no longer registered users.
would you jump in your car and deliver the car to them-cash on delivery?

 

bearing in mind ive already had the african scam with the false bank draft as well......

my ebay bills are over £250 a month so they had better.......

anyway ive just emailed them and told them if they want the car im not prepared to deliver it and they have to come to me to buy it-cash on collection.
if they are genuine they will turn up and buy the car-if not,it will go very quiet.....

 

If i get a call from a private number I pick it up but i dont speak until they do, then I put it down if i dont recognise the voice.

 

Fordsportjay, Just stick to your guns and carry on trusting your instincts mate, hope you get the fees back. Have been fucked about on there myself car and other items, really annoying.

I agree with you on the they sound sus, and no way would I drive even a £200 car to someone unless I had a proper convo with them...

As far as withheld numbers are concerned, I always answer withheld calls, in fact the company I work for withhold their number and my work mobile is witheld (set up by my company)

I make the decision when I speak to someone weather the convo goes any further.

Saying that if I was phoning a trader like yourself, I wouldnt use my work fone, 1, cos we are not allowed lol and 2, because hopefully if you didnt answer cos you were busy, you would phone me back, as my phone is not witheld!

I sometimes withold my number if I don't wish to be called back though.
