Default Wiper fuse keeps popping on mk1 vec estate

this is a ford forum i know, but someone might be able to help..

i tried using my wipers when there was heavy snow on my windscreen. and the weight of the snow popped the fuse. fair play. but i replaced it and now it keeps popping the wiper fuse every time i turn the ignition on?
im guessing ive knackered the motor

anyone got any ideas? selling the car tommorow and need them working!

cheers.

Could well have fucked the wiper stalk. The indicator ones always fail on vauxhalls. Mine went on an old astra when I had some 100 watt bulbs in there, so could be that its shorting there, seeing as its had a high load running through it?

true. but as said above i would have thought the first thing to burn out should there be resistance on the wipers would be the actual motor?

mechanice 28 - only way i could disconect it is by getting to the actual motor i guess? which is behind a load of plastic cowling/bulkhead. cant be arsed its too cold

guess il just have to sell it with wiper problem and knock some money off
