Default A19 WAR - white saph on ebay

My friend has won this vehicle and it was on ebay this week.

He won it for 3k and the chapp from Stafford (alegedly) wants 3k paying with Paypal which my friend will not do.

Anybody know the car or the owner?

He also has ZERO feedback on ebay and has only had ebay for a week.

any light would be much appreciated.

thanks

DO NOT PAY through paypal - it might be genuine but why risk it - if your mate fully intends to go through with the sale then call the seller up; he'll understand

Did your mate know the payment method and guy's feedback before bidding? If so he's being a bit of a cunt now, whether it seems dodgy or not. You don't like someone's item/payment options then simply don't bid.

Didnt the seller say as he had owned it for 12 years or so,I know I have seen the car before but not recently.Just get the address and turn up with a few of ya and the cash.If its a con tell him to get 4ked,if not pay the man and drive away.It is betond me as someone would want paying with PP rather than cash.Very strange imo.

i dont really see a problem, go down there with the laptop, check the car out, sign the docs wire the money there and then, you have the goods he has the cash, the only loser could be the seller if you put in a claim for non descript.

I would not pay first. The car could be a complete rot box. Like someone else said tell them after you have seen the car you will pay by paypal from his computer.

nath69uk , So would you part with your money before seeing the car ?

I would not pay for the car on collection if it is not as described or they are hiding something.

Pay with Paypal it won't be a problem..

Paypal won't release the cash until the buyer leaves feed back or there has been no dispute logged within 3 weeks if you have feedback less than 100.

The seller (conman?) hasn't spotted this recent change.

PayPal will not hold payments for eBay items if you meet the following criteria:

  • You have been an eBay member for more than 6-months, and
  • Your total Feedback score is greater than 100, and
  • Fewer than 5% of your transactions result in dissatisfied buyers*
Or
  • Your average DSR is greater than 4.5, and
  • Your have received more than 20 DSRs in the last 12 months
  • Your buyer dissatisfaction percentage is less than 5%
What will happen if my payment is held?

If you receive a payment that is held by PayPal, the amounts held will show as “Pending” in a separate PayPal balance on your account page. You will still have access to all other funds in your PayPal account.
Your funds will immediately be released when one of the following occurs:
  • The buyer leaves you positive feedback
  • 21 days pass without a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal filed on the transaction.
If you receive a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal on the transaction subject to the hold, PayPal may hold the payment in your Account until the matter is resolved, even if the claim, chargeback or reversal is made after the hold is released.

Dont paypal only cover you for upto £500 anyway?! Wouldnt paypal more money over than is guarenteed by them and certainly not 3k!!!

Althou reading the auction it does actually show in payment options paypal and nothing else........... althou most people would add somewhere paypal only and tbh if someone offers u cash instead dont know anyone who would refuse it spec when its 3k!
