Pro Alloy or Airtech intercooler?

Is there much difference in preformance between the double capacity pro alloy intercooler compare to the double capacity airtec one? Forgot to add its for an escort rs turbo
Does it justify an extra £125
As the options for my friend are either
1:- Re-cored rad, and pro alloy intercooler
2:- Airtech rad and intercooler
i think he may be better saving the money on the intercooler and buying the rad but after some peoples opions who know about these

i'd go with the airtech rad and intercooler package
due to the fact that the airtech rad got to be better than a standard rad even though its a recored one and as the two incoolers are the same design wise and there is little in it between the two

The guy who had the test done on his car was able to choose any of the intercoolers on test, and HE chose the Pro-Alloy one to keep
.
If this is for you David, then I can do you a deal on the Pro-alloy one, and it could be shipped with all your other stuff, email me (I will reply tomorrow, as I am now off out)

PA stuff is so worth the money, you will probably wanna cover it in glass and use it as a coffee table, so pretty yet really does the job well. My cash would be Pro Alloy

The Fastford test was RS500 intercooler not RST...
You could buy this i/c AND a rad!

Hey if dealers suddenly start selling the "in make" then that will best.
Some people would buy a shit covered ice cream if it was "designer", depends what you want, a fashion statement or something better for the money.

True.
No doubt at all the airtec one performs for the money.
We did test a Pro Alloy one when we fitted one to our RST a good while back. While we didn't compare any others to it, the results were great. Big drop in temps, 10bhp and similar torque gained without really touching anything else.

He asked if the performance difference justified the price difference.

The Pro Alloy ones have disapointed me but you can call me fussy, The inlet and outlet pipes have been reduced going in to and out of the intercooler to fit the slightly smaller end tanks so not true 2.5inch, The other one was 3 inch pipes and these reduced to under 2.5inch going in to the core so I was not happy at this, Wayne sorted it for us but IMO it should have been right to start with,
The AH Fab have been right so no complaints there

BTW I also run a Pro Alloy intercooler on my Focus ST so I am not commenting on this to big up the AH,
So my choice for a Cossie is the AH one.

I've got no experience of the Airtech stuff but i had the PA kit on the S1 and thought it was superb. But PA themselves are superb, I had a few faults with the kit and without any fuss whatsoever PA just sorted it, with numerous phonecalls from them letting me know what was going on all the time. recomended indeed!
