Default [New Product] Want to buy something simple but amazingly effective for your car?

Hello,
For quite some time now I have been working on securing UK and European distribution rights for a product that left mainstream production on motor vehicles many many years ago and I have always thought should make a comeback but never did anything about it.

The old school amongst you will remember that many vehicles used to come with an engine/gearbox/differential oil drain plug that contained a good strong magnet. The OE's stopped this due to the production costs of magnets going through the roof for the HT (High Temperature) versions.

Well, they are back.

They are not cheap and i make no apologies for that as i have them hand made and shipped in from the states (Shipping costs are huge due to weight then import duty stuffs me a second time), but they are a good honest, one time only purchase that do what they say on the tin and I have made some videos to show you what they do, and plenty of pages to explain all about them and why they are so so much better than your normal £4.99 alloy Chinese effort on eBay and the likes. (Prices on the site under product descriptions)

In a nutshell, as your engine wears it produces metal and this metal must go in the sump BEFORE the filter. Sadly, to get to the oil filter it usually has to go through the oil pump first so its nice to grab it before any damage can be done. And thats not to mention the fact that oil filters only tend to work down to about 35microns which is quite large compared to the metal in your oil. See the website for far more technical details.

If you want a quality drain plug with a super powerful magnet and exceptional assembly quality from a company who cares about their customers, look no further.

Click me to visit magnetic oil drain plugs.co.uk and visit the videos page if your not sure why you want a magnet in your oil.

Edited to add:
M12x1.25 Nissan & Toyota are being manufactured for me as we speak.ETA = 17th February.

These are used extensively in Aircraft Engine oil systems (main bearings, gearbox and starters etc), not so much to try and remove any particles from the oil, but they are fantastic for condition monitoring

Normally behind a cool check valve if i remember rightly? Would be a cool retrofit for a race engine I always thought.

Looks like a great product, i think i will be buying one for the cossy

Im not criticizing but i noticed this on the website, is that meant to be simple instead of dimple?

"I think you will be amazed when you see the power of these Dimple magnetic oil drain plugs! Give it a click, its under 2mins long!"

Great product.

Also on the website it says "bacteria bocci" it I believe should be "bacteria cocci" which are small spherical bacteria. E.g. Streptacoccus or Staphylococcus

Not nitpicking just try to help it sound as professional and accurate as possible.

Being magnetic does that mean it also removes the need for a spanner if you wanted to do a quick oil change or is it purely to catch the particals of metal in the oil?

Are you thinking that the plug is held in magnetically?

How much "quicker" would not undoing the plug like normal be? minute tops surely

Nissan 200sx S14. SR20DET engine. I think that all the SR20 engines use the same thread pitch and diameter but you're best of double checking.

Yes mate, they are even more effective in gearboxes as there is less fluid to contain the metal and more metal is generated. I just need to know the thread you require and I can have them made if enough interest. Or, i may have one in stock.

No, I think your right mate. Will look into this right now whilst I remember as they fit 95% of Toyota as well.

Come on boys, get some on order sharpish! Mine are in the post already for my Escos and I live on the other side of the world in Hong Kong!

Smart one Stu, I've only done 200 miles since the car has been back on the road, but I'm dropping the oil out and fitting the new plug as soon as it gets here!

Cheers!

Off Topic but still on topic sort of......

A company has just bought a very similar product into the Plumbing and Heating market.......

Basically, you may know that if you drain your heating system down you get alot of Black Sludge come out....That is the remains of the metal filings ect that are in the radiators and heat exchangers within the system. These will keep going round and round the heating system getting hot, then cooling down loads of time in its life. This causes blockages.

Now the product that is on the market is a Very strong inline Magnet with a catch tank. It collects all the metal filings and then you just shut the valves off.......Take the magnet out along with the catch pot and empty it.

SUPERB IDEA and similar i guess to what Stu is selling.........

http://www.adeysolutions.co.uk/subpr...nal.asp?id=246

Back on topic.........Sorry Stu

Good idea.

Always been dissapointed that modern engines dont have these as I grew up with them on minis, it can be quite an eye opener how much swarf actually gets collected.
