Default Electric Power Steering? What are you running?

Who on here runs electric power steering? And what is your set-up?

Having done a bit of reading up, I'm still a little confused about the differences between different set-ups

Cheers!

Ones that keep popping up are Corsa and Saxo

What's the difference? Have heard some people saying that Citroen ones are better. Corsa seems the most popular when it comes to older cars like MK2 Escort etc though.

What parts do you need? Column, pump...

Also, don't any more modern Fords have electric PAS? MK2 Focus/MK6 Fiesta/MK3 Mondeo and such like?

My mate on his Citroen 2CV8(yes a V8 one!!) uses a corsa b power steering one, it's just the lecky motor that is fitted at the top of colomun right near ig switch, no pump or anything, you then just need a little adjuster box to vary the assistance, or you can run direct for 100% assistance all the time I think, not overly sure you can do it this way but the lecky control boxes are about £20 I believe on the bay, made for conversions like this.

Ah, a set-up without a pump is what I was really looking for! Sounds interesting!

I wouldn't want 100% assistance all the time though. Any idea who makes those adjuster boxes?

Actually, are these both the adjuster boxes you speak of?
