Rally Ireland Weekend.

Rally Ireland Weekend.
1st off, sorry for the quality of pics. It's was a bit of a wet weekend!
Well after the success in 2007 of Rally Ireland, i was defo going back for the opening round in the WRC calender. As there was no fast ferry running we had to get the 3hr ferry from Holyhead, which wasn't a problem but coming back they only had a 9.15pm sailing which would cause a problem getting home late. Anyway we set off with no problem but once in Dublin the door wouldn't open causing a delay getting the cars/wagons of the deck. Once we was off, Sligo here we come....
In all the years of going to watch Rallying, this was by far the wettest & was greated Friday morning to crowds standing in flooded fields just to get the best viewing spot. Only got a few pics on SS1 as it's was far to wet & nothing was turning out
SS1 Glenboy...
We decided to go to the start for the re-run of Glenboy SS4....
The screaming 16's, Love the C2's
We then headed back to service as we heard Atkinson had taken out a telegraph pole.
Love em or hate, he's got pure talent
The calm before the storm....
While waiting for the Citreon to come in, we had heard the last 2 stages had been cancelled due to flooding & then the mechanics started bring out drivers door, 2 headlights, bumpers, bonnet, side skirt, drive shafts & gearbox. We was expecting the car to be in a bad way but came in with just panal damage...
Change of damper settings....
The car itself...
Door coming off...
Stripped...
Little hammer action to get the door to fit...
New shafts being fitted & gearbox....
Door & bonnet re-fitted...
Looking like a car again...
A sad sight not to see Subaru next to Citreon
Saturday SS9 Sloughan Glen
We drove the whole stage the night before & found a good stop but knew we'd be stuff on there til the stage was over. The road prior to the village they went thru at silly speed...
The to our delight there was a gap & these came thru aswell as a MK2, RS200 etc....
SS12 Sloughan Glen...
Few random Sunday pics...
The new UGLY Focus RS at M-Sport
Love em or hate em, he's the best
Inside the 02 Focus....
Apart from the weather & the delay coming home taking nearly 4 hours to do 100 miles it was brillant weekend & the Irish once again made you feel so welcome. Such nice pleasent people & was good to catch up with Justin & family at service.
Roll on the British rounds now.....
