carbon bonnet or not ???
ok, i cant decide if i should go carbon bonnet or not on the impreza
i need a new bonnet, a replacement is gonna cost around 250 quidish plus collecting it, spraying it blah blah
a carbon one will cost around 500ish, when the bonnet is painted its gonna end up being around 350 to 400 anyway so what is the better option ?

no that was just the bonnet vent, that aint staying anyway and will be flogged to someone else, along with the mirrors
just the bonnet to decide on tbh, i worry about carbon bonnets though for theft ect, they also weigh more than a normal bonnet
anyone on here got one ?

so excessive speed m'lord was the cause!!!
So ginge dont buy a gay chav carbon bonnet. buy a proper full carbon one, or make your own!! or commission that string vest wearing jay bloke to make one.

Having had a couple of aluminium STi bonnets though, I still can't believe that they weigh less than a carbon/'glass one anyway

cant make one, dont think its fair to ask jay to do it,, besides i aint got a bonnet he can mould from anymore pmsl
who deffo makes a all carbon one ??
they DO weigh more than alloy though, i was suprised too but its been confirmed with impreza owners who done the swop

Ginge - make sure you get another bonnet with a modified scoop, or fit a front mount.
I remember reading one of your posts before where you said the car was driven for long periods at high speeds. The classic scoop does not flow air properly above 100 or so because of the design, so high speed runs could leave you with a useless engine.

which is WHY i need a new bonnet pmsl
actually joking aside i will prob need your special skills with a front splitter for it though and also are you any good a modifying fibreglass, i got a rear spoiler that the base section to make it fit is a littl too wide so needs "trimming"
alan the caris gonna recive a front mount now too, gonna get it all done at once whilst its in bits
ps: down side is im using my "porsche fund" to repair it
