Default Racelogic traction control

Has anyone got racelogic traction control on there 2wd cosworth ?
The thing is ive just bought a unit and wondered is it good for stopping the back end going west and does it hinder the performance when you set off quick . I want to start doing track days and 1/4 mile strip and dont want to hinder the performance .

Thanks Travis .

I too have also heard they sucked AND blowed.

For launch control you might just want to do a simple two step with spark cut. It will build boost on the rev limiter.

Look at it this way, they tested it themselves and thought it was good enough to sell right? Take the time to fully sort your ABS systems and sensors so that it's in perfect condition. Make sure your coil and ignition is perfect. Then spend the time setting it up right.

I suspect that the complaints are from cars that might have had some issues with the hall effect wheel speed/ABS sensors and lack of setup time.

I drove a mates 480bhp chipped Lotus Carlton that had Racelogic fitted and setup by Racelogic themselves and it was a revelation. It transformed an evil handling beast into a real fun machine.

Just out of interest, for quite a while, the car in the Racelogic ad was a white 2wd Sapphire Cosworth. They had it as their demo car before they used the 325i Sport E30 in the ad.
They bought that car off Mick Mobberley at Hi-tech Motorsport from near Brierley Hill.

There was a big article in "Cars and Car Conversions" about the Racelogic system fitted to that car.
It was driven by Mark Hales, the race driver and instructor I think, and he gave a full appraisal of the system.
I'm pretty sure I have the article ( think it might have a turbo RS2000 Mk2 in red on the front cover but my memory is a bit hazy - might have been about 96/97? )
