just downloaded a proper old skool tune but it was in .flac ?never heard of this and i doubt it will play so how do i convert it to mp3 ? do i need to downmload a certain prog etc ??

and help would be great

.flac is like .wav, ie uncompressed music, the best you can get really.

.wav isn't uncompressed its just higher quality compression than .mp3.

FLAC stands for Free Lossless Audio Codec. Its about 20% smaller than a CD in data size but is the exact same information as is on CD, so in theory its as good as CD quality. I've you've got a decent hi-fi and soundcard then you'll notice a big difference, if its on a MP3 player or PC speakers or an on board sound card its not worth the extra download/storage size.

not correct, wav can be either compressed or uncompressed when in the (LPCM) format
