As title really. Following on from an old post I can't be arsed to find and link up to this post - anyone out in PF land fancy a clamber around Snowdon this Sat?
I may be up there for the day, depending on my work load.
Won't know till nearer Friday sadly, but thought I'd put the feelers out.
Fancy a run up Grib Goch and round the Horseshoe or back down the Pyg track, whatever the weather allows.

Si, if it was any other time other than Sat, I'd have come! Never done Crib Goch and don't have a head for heights, but I'd love to try it
(Nothing like that in the Brecon Beacons).
I need to get a few walks in soon, as I'm doing Nijmegen in July

Will keep you folks posted next time!
Just read the weather forecast, looks cold and blizzard conditions!
This in the Snowdon webcam page, sounds like my kind of weather!!!:
Neil Wilcock, Merseyside
We attempted Snowdon on Sunday via the PYG route. One word sums up our ascent MADNESS. We set off from Pen y Pass CP at around 8.15am to be greeted by a barrage of hailstones etc. As we proceeded up the route just past Crib Goch's turn off we started to encounter the snow/ice. Anyway to cut a long story short we managed to overcome the snow/ice until we got to the finger stone at the top of the PYG route, then it just became a white-out with high winds and general blizzard contitions. Word of warning, the bit of path near the top of the PYG route where it zig zags is non existent, cannot be seen with all the snow cover, so how on earth we got to the ridge I don't know. I did see a couple of people turning off up the Crib Goch route and I wished them luck as in those conditions I thought it would have been suicide. We finally got the ridge and slowly made our way to the cafe, which of course was closed. Stayed there for about 2-3 mins whilst we decided which path to decend. We never even attempted to walk the other 50ft or so to the summit as it would have been madness with the snow being so deep and ice being everywere. We decided to come back down the PYG route again, which was a slow process given that our previous footprints had disappeared. I have been up Snowdon several times in the last two years via various routes and this was the worst I've ever encountered. I was properly clothed and equipped but it was utter madness. When I got back to the car I thought about how much worse it could have been had I slipped or became disorientated. Make sure you know your route, have checked the weather (even though I did and it said sunny spells), this cannot be underestimated, have the correct gear, mobile phone, plenty of water/snacks, and make sure that someone knows where you're going and via what route. I think I'll wait until the summer.

Also loved Dave's pathetic attempt at keeping hush hush secrets! Funny when he was peeing himself with laughter as Chris kept going on about the "secret" mountain, knowing he has spilled it just minutes before!
Would be cool to bump into them up there, but I would expect they'll take the low level Miner's track to the top.

Yep, just over 250 miles up there, which I'll probably do tonight or first thing tomorrow am (like leave at 2am)
Run up the hill and back down for 2/3 pm ish, then leg it 250 miles back home on Sat eve in time for my best mate's birthday bash.
I'm going to be trashed tomorrow night!

Gutted to hear about the 2 local lads who died up there this weekend ![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
Thanks for checking up on me folks![Banana](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/banana_dance.gif)
Didn't go as the Focus LPG car I was going to use had a few issues to iron out, and just ran out of time.
Still Ben Nevis for me next weekend, so that could be fun with all the snow we're having

Its great up here now Si, you'd love a proper walk around the area....if you could actually get to it
I'm 3 miles away from Snowdon and I find it difficult to get there!
