Default Where to get Hi-Fi?

Can anybody recomend places to get stuff for the home. Bloke at work has been looking at the Bose I-Pod docking station and speaker system which he's found in John Lewis for £214.

I think you'll find that Bose stuff is considered over-rated in hifi circles.

John Lewis are great though, even if they are a tiny bit more expensive (which they may not be), their service and back-up is ace.

Depends whether you want mainstream brands such as Pioneer or technics etc etc

or whether you want the upmarket stuff such as Naim Audio?

i believe they will price match.

i use superfi alot for my audio stuff

i used to work at this place, and we used to do the bose sounddocks for about £184 delivered, give them a try, not sure what price they will be at now tho

I'd go to a specialist shop like Music Matters etc and benefit from their knowledge and customer service. What Hi-fi is a good place to start and sound out a local supplier, especially if you want to have a listen first.
Buying the components is only the half of it if you're serious about a hi-fi set up. If he isnt that bothered then just mail order from somewhere as cheap as possible!
