Default mondeo front subframe

anyone about tomorrow that wants to give me a hand getting my front subframe bolts back in on my mondeo ?

Been trying all day and its been fucking me right off. !

There will be a drink ( obviously i will supply liquid refreshments, but i was thinking more like ££ ) in it for whoever manages to do it

Its a difficult job todo alone. i can get the bolts in a few turns, then it goes tight and wont budge

please as i need it for work first thing monday morning

They rarely do,and when they eventually do, the captive nut snaps off the other side, usually somewhere you cant reach at the front.

I remember having to rip up the carpet and cut a hole in the floorpan with a 4 inch grinder of a mondeo mk2, to get to a captive nut which had snapped off:@

I can remember never having had to use the aligment pins that others use, I just wrapped tape around a old piece of bar.

its not getting the bolt to the nut, its just not going into the nut striaght, hence going ina coupleof turns then going tight.

i didnt get round to having another go today, so im having the day off tomorrow to try again with a fresh head as i wasnt in the best of moods when i was doing it as someone drove into be the night before

When i did it on my escort i just used a couple of trolly jacks to position and raise the subframe. So before putting the bolts in, it was fully located.

Dont know what the mondeos are like though

have you tried the socket/extension idea?

alternatily, cut a grove into the bolt and try it that way as it may act as some sort of thread cleaner
