as said were would you start on rebuilding this 3dr cosworth one heck of a project for some one

seen it on the bay last night looks the basis for a top project,wish i had the spare wonga to give it a go

 

Maybe of been one of the V8 thundersaloons ?? As i see its had a live axle at some point on a 5 link set up !!!

 

i'm not to keen on the thunder saloon look
but there is something very cool about that
its very very cheap just now, surely its got to go up in price by a few grand

 

if your really really really really interested in this car it may be worth asking super mod Turbosystems Tony about the car,its his neck of the woods and it looks like the sort of thing one of his old customers had, it may even be one of his old customers.

or howabout does it say rs500 on the logbook ??
mind you i may of thought of that and nobody else, it really could be a rs500 with a v5

that is one of my old cars , it is a genuine ex btcc car,this is how it did look a few years ago before i stripped it and sold the shell,

 

same here, i noticed the rear end set up too.

 

i don't remember any v8 sierra thundersaloons, i remember severn valleys kevan kemps sierra thunder saloon,and the securicor ones and the arquati one too. tbh i would hope to find a chassis number or tag that could be proven to have come from a proper touring car team and put it all back to rs500 spec meself. as a thunder saloon its not really anything special but as the car it ran in the BTTC or ETTC etc its a interesting car.

 

Karl there where deffinetly at least 2 V8 thundersaloons one was black and flamed and was a front running car the other was red i think and made odd appearneces during the 90 to 92 seasons and also i think another one which is also red ran by Bloomfield racing in the modsports !!!
and also a Porsche engine one built by Gartrag !!

The Xr4ti was a thunder saloon car back in the day and it ran a V8 after Ford in Europe band the Merkur, they used it in Can am racing too There was a number of kits as well Fibersports who made the Ford Series X car body kits, made and still do make the Fiberglass kits. But you could get a metal/steel kit too and that is what was on the race cars. there has been a number of them for sale over the years on ebay. there is an Andy rouse XR4ti TC shell about in Scotland some where too . PS if anyone has a kit Im looking for one or a shell
