read this in our local paper yesterday, the jist of it is, owners of the house next to the circuit have won over a 100K compo in court for noise pollution, if the appeal fails it could open the floodgates for others nearby
the bloody track was there before they bought the dam house!
the court cost so far are over 700k!!
there court action isn't about race days strangely but track days and midweek testing

The thing that gets me is that croft has been there for years so when people move next to a race circuit what do they xpect. So the people who live near teeside airport are gonnna start to moan about the planes.

Croft was used as an airport back in the days, so its always been noisy, but back then people would put up with a nuisance, nowadays its any excuse to winge or put a claim in.

I'd always assumed that was the landowner's house.
Thought it best to check before postie brings them a stack of dogshit-filled jiffybags, jet cars hit full boooost on their drive and so on

I swear these people buy these houses so that they can get some money in court later. I mean, if you think about it, they have forever to sit there and moan, eventually they are bound to find a judge dumb enough to side with them.
It really annoys me that people get away with crap. Tracks and airfields are built in remote areas, so's they won't bother people. If you build/buy a house nearby then thats you own stupidity/fault.
Often I wonder if these tracks should counter sue them, I'm sure that would make them think twice...

It would be nice, the track and all the local businesses that would suffer as a result. I doubt it's allowed though this country is well and truly fucked, it's ridiculous! It's always those with money that complain AND get payed out too...greedy c**ts!!

Elvington's got one too...who also owns an evo that he does track days in himself...cunt!!
When you buy as house you do your homework so you should know what's local so i don't see how you can legally complain about something that was already there

hi neil, I googled the name of the house in google maps and it came up as that house, I have previously been told at the gate by a security man that the house with the problems is.. to quote him " down there on the right" which would be that house aswell so I'm guessing I'm right

the cunts knew there was a track there when they bought the house on the cheap
lived with it for years with no real problem
then all of a sudden the "no win no fee" brigade are involved and they're in court
they're clearly just trying to get a few quid
judge should tell them where to go
