Default Ka - electrical problem?

got a wee Ka for nowt (boy said non runner due to immobiliser) towed it home and it fired up straight away with a jump and running perfect, took it a wee run to charge up battery and everything was fine, next few days started on the button then turned it off, tried again and nothing - no dash lights, central locking not working or anything?

took battery to get checked (newish halfords one in it) they conf it was goosed and gave me a new one, now the dash lights flicker as if bad connection somewhere and wont start - even with a jump - any ideas? Not got a lot of experience with Ka's myself! Its a totally standard P reg 1.3 crossflow.

Cheers

More likely a short somewhere, so a good check at all wiring particularly wher eit is secured to or goes through panels, to make sure not rubbed through.

Its gonna be a short somewhere, turn ign on and wiggle as many wires as you can find while someone watches if the dash lights flicker. When they do, you have found your problem!
