Valebtino Rossi to WSB
Multiple MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi is lining up a ride alongside Ben Spies at the Qatar World Superbike round in March, say sources inside the Yamaha Italia factory.
There has been much speculation in recent months regarding Rossi's comments about WSB being far more exciting than MotoGP and the fact he wanted to race Troy Bayliss in a one-off event at Misano.
The news that Rossi could partner former three-times AMA Champion Spies on the 2009 long-bang R1 is sure to swell advance ticket sales at the desert track, which usually hosts 13 spectators for both WSB and MotoGP.
How the Italian factory would work a two or three-man team for the event is subject to speculation because ex-BSN man Tom Sykes will be very reluctant to give up his ride to allow Rossi in.

Last year Motogp was ok, and not even ok at times, same 2 or 3 fucking off, got boring and tedious, the 2 races that stopped the year being boring for me were Qatar and Laguna
WSB, ok so Bayliss romped it, but there was some fairing bashing going on, and at some races Bayliss didnt have it that easy, awesome racing.
WSS - Best racing of the year by far, If you can try and get hold of the Assen race, It will give you a headache trying to keep up with who's doing what, summat like 7 or 8 riders at the front swapping places every corner start to finish.
This year theres only summat like 16 on the grid for Motogp
WSB has 5 Brits to start with,
Byrne - Sterilgarda Ducati
Sykes - Factory Yamaha
Haslam - Stiggy Honda
Hill - Alto Evo Honda
Rea - Ken Tate Honda
Plus Aprilia are returning and BMW have a factory team in there,
Gonna be an awesome year in the WSB

Rossi wont be leaving the moto gp, If he does do a special appearance it will be a one off. Rossi did say at the beginning of last year that he thinks Super Bikes is the most exciting as after all he loves racing look at leguna seca last year. and he would love to race bayliss. But rossi is a different class, Bayliss tried moto gp think he only won 1 race on a Ducatti so he wasnt on a (lesser bike). It will be good if it goes ahead and i cant wait for the 2009 season to start

Have a job though!
It's only a one off ride. maybe he's sick of the fact British Eurosport won't be covering the races thisyear. Replaced by the twats at BBC Sport!
Bayliss did ride GP for 3 seasons? Ducati for 2 Camel Honda for 1. But aside from a few podiums didn't set the world on fire.
However, it was only when he rode at Valencia 06 a wild card ducati that he absolutely mullered everyone and won.
As for the Brits in WSBK. Only Johnny has a chance of doing well/winning.
Byrne tried before and failed. Haslam is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. Sykes its potentially too soon! Hill couldnt win consistently in BSB so quite why people are hyping him as a great hope? And whilst i think Cal has the talent. Im not sure he'll get on with the big bang R1 after a couple years on 4 pots.
First time in a few years I've wanted to watch WSBK though

2009 long-bang R1
get on with the big bang R1
I did a thread on big bang so am aware of what it is, just wondered if long bang was yet another firing order?
Cheers and back to topic, Rossi in the WSB would be a good race, though I dont dislike GP, I do find the WSBK much more entertaining, as mentioned before, its more akin to touring cars vs F1

Yes. 2 different terms for the same thing. Big Bang is the more used term though
EDIT: I expect Rossi to wipe the floor with them. He's THAT good. Max was on the downslope of his career.
