saph cossie lowering??
ive got a saph cos in which im tinkering with ready for summer, basically it sits nice and low at the front but the rear has a inch1/2 ish gap between tyre and body i was thinking of slamming the rear end but was reading a post on here somwhere saying lowering the back of a saph will make the handleing of it real shit.
how true is this?
its got the basics of bilstein springs and shocks allround, i no the best thing to do is the 6" rear beam but thats a grand away!
anyone run a slammed/std/slightly lowered saph or even better tried all 3 out?cheers

a, cutting springs is illegal, and would fail any mot, and if caught on the road it would be prohibited from driving instantly.
b, its extrely dangerous, hence the above action.
cutting road springs is madness, hence my comment.
you have tits?

If done correctly there is no danger whatsoever, they are cut when made after all just a different cutter.
As to the wisdom of it, it will alter the effectiveness of the spring depending on how much you cut off possibly to a dangerous level, and is imo more likely to ruin the handling, as it will be a lot more prone to bottoming out.
The springs are fairly inexpensive to buy, chassis dynamics, as well as other great makes of springs are a better bet.

oh, you have the equipment to make cutting springs safe? lol...whats that then?
on a cossie at the rear its even more dangerous, because the shock is not in the center of the spring...if it dislocates at full travel.....the spring will come out completly..
i work for vosa pal so im motre aware than most of how the system works works
