The standard Ford gear is fine mate.

The dials can go a bit nuts when the battery is on the way out, common problem.

The car wont pull convincingly at the top end and the exhaust will be very quiet. Stand behind it and get someone else to rev it. If its buggered it will be noticably quieter.

Best of luck.

Idle control valve. Remove and clean, if that doesnt fix it then replace it.

They shouldn't warp with normal road use. The ones from ford are exactly the same as you would get from a motor factors, just in a different box! Either that or bolt on a 300mm st170 set up?

I just use cheapy discs, drill them and change every pad change, should be around £20 a pair for focus 2L discs, pads I would use EBC redstuff ceramic.
