Default Focus key programming

Hoping someone on here will be able to help

A friend has a 52 plate focus, he needs a new key but doesn't want to pay the local dealer to program it.

What's the story with programming the keys? I'm sure I remember something about using the master key, but screwed if I can remember how to do it!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Does he have both original keys? If not then the only way is at the dealer i'm afraid.

If he has both keys and wants to program a 3rd, have a look here
