Default how to protect coilovers

i have a set of coilovers, and they have come with a external protection spray in the box, but unfortunately it leaked in the box.

what do you use to protect the coilover bodies from oxidising/corroding and the locking rings from seizing?

copper grease?

white grease???

silicone spray?

hopefully someone has come across this!

cheers

light oil is prob best as grease etc makes alot of dirt stick to them but it does protect them!

i used white grease but you had to jetwash it off if working anywhere near the coilover so not to get covered.

ACF 50, is best as used on F15E's etc by USAF, pricey but works well, in a motorcycle shop near you.
