Default Internet Proxies

Hypothetically speaking, if you wanted to browse the web and be completely undetectable and 'anonymous', is that possible?

Or can you always be tracked, whatever you are doing?

Technically, yes, you can anonymise yourself. It's not an especially simple process though.

And, personally, I wouldn't use any proxies that I don't configure or administer. Typical proxy website bumph: "Anonymise your internet browsing!!!! Hide your porn habits!!! Secure yourself!!!" Now read between the lines of Honest Gupta's Internet Anonymiser "You think you're safe, but I'm logging everything you do...ooh, what's this? A credit card number? Thank you, come again!"

Best option imo is tor if you're not bothered about speed.

Wink

As said above, you can never truely hide from the Feds, but you can become totally invisible from everyday joe. Is not easy or simple though. And to explain how to would violate rules of forum. Best bet :

Do this from in internet cafe, one you've worn a fake moustache to walk to and doesn't have cctv. You'll also pay cash at this internet cafe.

This is the best bet IMHO

How do you figure that out? Do you mean a Class A NETWORK? Then you'd have to be a legitmate point of contact for all of the addresses in that network which would make it extremely easy for you to be found

So, it wouldn't be hard if you just needed absolutely anonymous access for a few minutes?

Or if anyone is brave and invisible they could do it for me!!

Depending on how anonymous you want to be, just download Safari from Apple, and use the 'Private Browsing' function in the Edit menu - this tells Safari to store nothing from that session, cookies, history, typed address, cache, nothing.

Thats as maybe, but it doesn't stop all the other servers you're in contact with accross the internet recording details of the computer you're using.

Best with someone elses computer, without thier knowledge.
