in terms of modifications with std engine
N/A
Aftermarket ecu and bob cams in a boa engine 240-250bhp
Turbo
Std or aftermarket ecu, remap t3 turbo either single or twin running 7lbs boost on a standard engine 300-350bhp
Super charged
On standard engine after market ecu and remapnot totally sure but probally 350 bhp
Reports of 600-800bhp have been heard of but i am sure it woyld be costly
Best person to speak to is mike at boost performance do web search and you will find their details

what I am saying as the 24v is starting you run out of steam at 6k and the YB is still pulling well, so I would change gear and a second later he would and thats how the YB would gain

the problem is that the old 12V lump had lots of grunt midrange but couldn't breathe higher up
so they went and put multi valves heads on it to make power top end, but failed to sort the shonky bottom end
i know i've got the last generation of blocks with extra extra webbing to stop it from flexing, but even so, i'll be sticking to a nice affordable 6500 rev limit to reduce the costs of a costly rebuild should it come to that

yes I sold my 24v, but I would have a 24v saff, before a YB saff anyday.
Cheap, great fucking fun love them, its not all about power its about fun and the 24v gives just the right power at a price for that fun factor.

20K+ Super Poster.
i have spent a LOT ona 24v car before so this is from experience....
...dont spend money trying to make it go faster.
go for an exhaust, air filter, and maybe a chip then leave it.
youll spend a LOT of money chasing very small gains otherwise and it just sint worth it.
what makes the 24v such a good engine is the fact it's CHEAP. if you want to a few quid youre better off using a different more tueable and better engine

24v sierra's good track cars??
oh yes!!
here is mine and m8's (robrs2 on here) round croft
mine is the red boa one and robs is the white bob powered one, the camera view swaps between both.

they do make very good track cars, just watch for timing chain tensioners being eaten and bottom ends going I keep the revs down to 6k max to protect it

daft question but what are they like on fuel?
i'd love one in my 2.0 4x4 estate but since i only use it to take the dogs out in it seems a bit pointless

Not sure on the boost it will be running its still work in progress, i think he's talking about using an Emerald ecu so should be good. Proper sleeper though bog standard manta with this in it.

about the fueling of the 24v same night as above the pulsar used 3/4 of a tank of fuel and the 24v used 1/4 over the same distance it was pretty good on the go go juice for a 2.9 v6
