Nankang tyres
Has anyone had these tyres, looking at a new set of alloys with these on, are they ditchfinder specials, as some of the unkown makes can be ok, just don't know about these.
Thanks for any input

Yes you can have my wheels no problem as no use to me, have you still got your duff ecu ?
Thanks for the comments it's just the wheels come with these, maybe I should save a little longer for some decent tyres to go on straight away, rather than risk it.

Are the tyres new? what size are they?

got to be better than the TIGAR tyres on my old car, or the rubbish fullera's (SP) on my current car! Once I've burned them out on go some decent stuff!

never found a problem with them , in wet or dry , as said good hard wearing tread and also tapered in so tend not to buff on low cars
at the end of the day cant ask for more than that for four 17 inch tyres delivered for £150 .

i had them on the mondeo and i can say the following:
when new they were terrible
but, after about 500 miles of use, both hard and gentle, they were considerably better
that said, the ones i've got on now, even though i can't remember what they are called, are noticeably better, even from brand new, but you have to remember that i had new brakes and fairly better suspension fitted all within the same sort of time frame

I had nankangs on my old escort GTi and never had any problems with them. They lasted a fair amount of time and never made me feel nervous about giving it some in the wet. For what they cost I dont think there bad tyres

i had nankangs come with my new alloys a few years back, they lasted ages, were pretty good in the dry, and the only scary time i ever had was high speed in torrential rain on the motorway. general back lane blasting in the wet was ok, i didnt end up round a tree or in a ditch
when they were shot, i swapped them for yokos, and genuinely the only difference i noticed was the yokos cost more and went bald very fast!!! lol
ps, obviously they not as good as higher priced stuff, but as budgets go, they aint as bad as the bandwagon jumpers would suggest

I stuck a set of NS-1's on my old A4 and they couldn't even hold the beast of a 1600cc motor. Understeertastic and the biggest false economy I ever tried in a bid to save a few quid

They are 205/40X17 so will take them off and let my dad have them for his mondy ghia, and order some Vredestein Sportrac 3's, juts bought a pair, in 205/50X15 but £79 each all in!!
Thnaks a lot for the comments, seems they would be much better for my dads sedate driving style, as my mum hits him if he goes to fast!!

I have these fitted 225/35-18 and I have driven them in the dry wich and even harder in the wet, and I cant fail them.. I am very pleased and I even paid HALF the big brands. And when I am not living my life in the outerlane of the AUTOBAHN I think they can do just fine for me.
Thay are very silent too.
Dojj.. if your comment was about driving the tyre in, I agree now I have had them for a bit over a year.. They are much better now!

Those who have used them and say they are ok, have you actully drove on better tyres before??? A good tyre makes all the difference and Nankangs aint a good tyre if you like to press on round the twisies. One thing that amuses me is the fact people will go out and make their cars stage3 + and do suspension work so it handles better then pay as little as possible for tyres and get shite ones that cant hold the road.
Nankang are fine on your daily commute car if you just plod along in it but if your putting them on something with a bit of power that you like to chuck about then theres no point even bothering imo.
What they goin on Tabz?
