Jp, R33 Skylines are great on the road, super comfy, awesome cruisers and are a great laff to throw down some lanes. A Standard car with a 1 bar boost conversion and just an exhaust is more than fast enough for most people as well! The downsides are fuel consumption and parts can be pricey if they go wrong.. they are also VERY big and heavy cars so giving one death on a track like you want to is alot harder on the car 'consumable' parts (brakes, and stuff like that)

I think an Evo would be your best bet mate, very usable everyday, and can take the pounding and do the biz out on a track

OR go the opposite way and get something like a tuned Elise, Vx Turbo or Caterham Awesome fun on a sunday morning blast down the lanes and on track

The Westfield Megabusa's are awesome machines! A friend has just bought one in bright Orange with carbon detailing etc..... Absolutely fookin flies to 60!! Not sure on top end as it was around country lanes but fook me it goes!!! Obviously the only issue would be the inpracticality of it.

You can buy an brand new Evo 8 of about 20k now so hold out and they'll fall in your price range very soon...

Not Jp's style Plynchy... I love mine to death BUT it won't be a fast enough trackcar for JP after he had been used to a track prepared 500bhp Cossie!

VX220 Turbo's are just about dropping to that kind of price, and as it is a turbo it's probably very tuneable!

The Vx's are VERY fast and alot of fun to drive as well.... I'd rip the Vaux badges off and badge it as an Opel Speedster though!

cheers lee
you know my thoughts on track days it will have to be a very good track car as well as doing the a good job on the road ,as for the skyline i think your right to heavy and to much to maintain ,for some reason i cant see me in an evo ,we will have to wait and see if it goes this weekend,if not might have to spend a bit more on it to compete with you and the rest of the zoo bunch , are you going to donnington next sunday lee if so see you there

You're crazy, you'll never replace the thrill of the 500 .

And please explain with all that room in the boot, why you couldn't take it down the shops ?

If it was TOO track orientated, then for a few hundred quid TOPS you could have made it more of a compromise just by softening the spring rates .

1,600,000 penny chews. or probably even more if you go to Macros.

For a car though, you could get a formula ford, that would be pretty specially if you're only tracking it PLUS, you'd have enough money left over for a nice 4x4 saff to tow it with
