Platform commonality. Ford, Volvo, Mazda.
Just wondering what platforms and hence drive lines are shared between the small modern Fords such as the Focus and Fiesta, and the small Volvo's and Mazda's.
Since rotten Sapphires and the likes aren't available in OZ to convert the small Fords to either rear or all wheel drive, I thought there might have been some other cars that are, that could be relieved of their performance bits to be able to build something different. Maybe a Volvo T5 Fiesta, etc. The Focus or Mondeo XR5's as they are called locally, don't seem to be plentiful in the wreckers yet. Well there aren't a lot on the roads either for that matter.

Jag S-Type drive and power trains should all fit in a Mondeo easily enough...
Also the Mazda 3 is essentially the same as a focus, and the 5 as a Mondeo.
IIRC!

just finding my feet
the wishbones on a s40 are deffo ford ones, the gearbox in a jag though is not the same as a mondeo though, the engines are again based the same ( diesel) but the jag engines have weights on the conrods to help balance them and keep em quieter
they are based on them though
the 1.6 volvo S40 is a ka sport engine though i know that for sure as it used to be my company car
