These were MK4 Escort Cabriolets. They were available in either the blue or pink, both with a grey lower section and body-matched vinyl roofs. I would not say that they are specifically rare, just not as common as the average XR3i cabriolet (which most are).

the ones on the F reg is what your talking with half leather recaros with black leather, they are quite rare cause they they got striped for there seats, a guy i used to work with back in the day swopped hes cossie for one and turboed it,, back in 1994 though pmsl

i ALWAYS wanted amythist pink cabrio but could never find one so they are rarer and girls love em

they come with full electrics including the roof and they are NOT th later G reg 2 tone jobs

oh a bloke called "merv" used to have a blue one from the rs centre in bognor, he spent LOADS on it and i think he may also have done a cossie conversion on it after but not sure about that

thats the WRONG cabrio, its not a ltd edition one its just a different colour option

i used to own one of them aswell

the LTD cabrios are stated on the log book and are a metalic sky blue, on the G reg they made them with grey at the bottom, darker blue and changed the seats to half leathers but non recaro

the ones he talking about in amythist is F reg DEFO !!!!

thats the colour, though that actual car is a 1.6 carb cabrio they done in 1987,, even rarer , cheep to insure but shit seats/spec

ellie it IS amalfi blue, it wasnt litd edition though just a amalfi blue escort efi xr3i, i know cause i owned one !!

it came with standard xr3i seats, not even a power roof !!!!

My sis recons they was all on G plates cos they were the last of the run of MK4's which may have made them "special editions"

the amalfi is on a g reg, it was a special edition perhaps but wasnt ltd as in a set amount made like the amythyst pink which was on a f reg, and had MFI management

the amalfis where made FROM G reg btw, my one was a H reg one, as said no power roof and normal XR3i seats but did have green tint glass and heated screen

ellie the amalfi IS that colour which is correct but its not the ltd cabrio like the pink one is is what im trying to say, they made aqua blue i think is the name and the pink as a ltd option in 1989

my mate had one last year and it said in the bull that came with it from ford that it was a special or ltd edition, it was a medium blueover silver,half leather and a all the other shit and cross spoke rs alloys, it was unwelded and rot free, still wasn't worth a carrot though

i had the azure blue ones bitd one was d86wey was a proper minter that one, had a few white ones too. iirc the normal ones were 1.6i on the v5 not xr3i

there was a dark blue ltd edition and a blue or silver over grey ltd edition aswell as the some others , there was a few i used to see that had half leather recaros and some had half leather xr3i seats.
the gold ones were old dears cars. next to cozzies they were one of the most fucked about cars in the late 80's and 90's.

Yes, i know its amalfi blue, because its the same colour as the picture i posted up before, its an aqua/turquoisey colour.
The pic u posted, the D reg car is nothing like that colour.

then i bought this cabrio for the seats

the D reg is aqua though, hat was my point, they made a 1.6 carb cabrio with plastic bumpers, crap seats in aqua in 1987, its the only one i could find in the colour on google

The picture i posted at the top of the page was an amalfi blue. It is an aqua/turquoise shade of blue.
You tell me its wrong and put up a completely different colour, then post a pic of your amalfi blue, which is the same bloody colour as the one i put up.

i know, I was refering to the F reg LTD EDITION CABRIOS, the amythist one and the aqua one,,,, the amalfi is NOT the same car, its NOT ltd edition, its NOT the same colour its just a xr3i in a special edition colour
