S1 aftermarket rim ideas
OK guys, pics and opinions needed ! I've had my S1 for sale for a month or two now and have in the main been inundated with idiots, wankers, dickheads, timewasters and everything inbetween. Had a few genuine people contact me (most from PF as it goes !) but I've now decided to withdraw the car from sale as I can't be arsed with talking to messers any more.
Which leaves me in a bit of a dilemma.
I am, to a degree, bored with the car. So I need to 're-invent' the car so to speak and the quickest way to do this is to change the rims from the standard ones. I'd go to 17's, but whatever I chose would need to compliment the look of the car and be in tune with the S1 styling ie. not the latest rims released. I have a set of 16' RS7's which are as bent as a corkscrew (long story ) and I've been told they can't be straightened by two different firms (although I'd love to get them fixed). So I'm on the hunt again. I love the S1 that has just been restored on here with the white RL7's (looks the nuts) but I'd like some other options and opinions.
What you guys reckon ?

Any white wheels like comp mo's would look awesome. What wheels do Christian and Tony Turbo have on their series 2's they'd look perfect on your s1. I wouldnt put 17's on it personally but it's your car

I'd rather not put 17's on either mate given the choice as that means shaving the arches which I'd rather not do. But there are more choice in 17's than 16's.....that's the ONLY reason I'd consider 17's at all. As I said, I'd rather have my 16 RS7's on but that doesn't appear to be an option.

i had old style comps on mine in 16"
excuse the rust, a good friend now has the car and been fully restored, and now has 17" smooth 7 spokes on her - happy days

I would be tempted by the wheels on NUF , that car looks so hard on them.
Be a pitty to hack the arches for the sake of some rims though given the condition of the car.

the racelines ones lok like they suit the car
a more angular rim will look better suited than a soft spoke version, but you need hard angles rather than thin spokes and a flater face as opposed to too much dish, either in or out
now all you have to do is find the right rim that matches the description
also, i seem to remember that saab's have thesame stud pattern as fords so some of their older rims might be a very cheap but effective short term replacement idea
i had a set of saab turbo 3 spokes on the 3 door for a while

a set of 7x15 capri brookland 7 spokes look nice mate. They fill the arches because of the offset. Mind you a clean set of wolfrace Voodoo's do look good on an S1

its your car but I think that the capri style wheel or any of the compomotives just look tired and old! the raceline or rondell's really do suit the lines of the car as does the azev a or c..
any other 15" wheel apart from the standard ones look too small to me. the car looks so much more aggresive with 17's.
What about Borbet c's in a 16" or 17" they are a nice wheel!

I was tempted on fitting RS200 wheels on my S1 back in the day,as they were 16 inches and would be great for brake clearance compared to the standard rims and still have that standard"look" as well.....although they may be a tad too wide...
