he came into the corner way too fast! he followed the red car in to the corner trying to under brake everyone and bailed out because he fluffed it!! easily done!

maybe he should go back to basics for a while

1 hours track time Ł150 inc vat (inc instructor for the full hour)

surely its cheaper than keep repairing other peoples cars....

You fucking mong

He came into the corner too fast cause his fucking brakes werent working, its kind of tricky getting down the right speed without any brakes, or do they teach you on the instruction to wave your arms out the window and flap about to slow down or something

Have you actually seen the vid on the in car footage? Where he's stamping on the brake pedal a few times and nothing happens?

So in your opinion a free wheeling car will stop sooner on tarmac than on grass or gravel etc?

Crikey, it sounds like that retard of the year contest already mentioned is going to be flooded with late entrants at this rate

Would be interesting to know the cause of the brake failure.. Was it a broken line or fade?? Fade normally gives you a bit of warning first, whatever caused it... It's not a nice situation to find yourself in.

When talking about someone in a RACE (thats the reason he was driving his car quickly, he wasnt on his way to tescos) who suffers complete brake failure on the way into a bend so has no choice but to take evasive action.

Agreed, he needed distance to scrub off speed and the grass could have worked for him.

From what Simon said, the brakes got very hot on the previous corner, then on the way down the straight the heat transfer occurred meaning that when he arrived at the next corner, the fluid had then boiled.

Highly unusual, but certainly seems to be backed up by the video and the fact there was no fluid loss evident.

And the fact that grass gives more rolling resistance than tarmac ...
I do worry sometimes, some of the comments people come out with are fantastically stupid ... Saying that don't forget most people commenting have actually WON the Evo championship, and got bored as there was no challenge....

It terrifies me the thought of ending up on track with some of these people who really dont seem to have any grasp of how cars actually work

look at the footage mate even if he had the best set of breaks in the world he was flying up to the corner on the inside following the red car and thought shit im not going to make this corner, it didnt help with the brakes dropping out. but hey the guy could do with a few hours with the instructor too smooth his driving out.

He went into the corner at the same rate he does every lap, and when his brakes work guess what happens, he slows down enough to make the bend and come out the other side.

And people are actually upset about comments posted on the internet? Worse yet, Youtube????

I bet Simon Norris is having to cry himself to sleep every night More likely he couldnt give a rats arse about what any keyboard warriors on the internet think, when he knows reason for his racing accident, which on all accounts was caused by brake failure.

Seriously, some people take the internet too seriously - use it for what its here for - PORN

Did it work though mate, have you now realised that a long stretch of grass is better for slowing down a car with no brakes than a short section of tarmac, cause if that simple fact has managed to penetrate your understanding, then I guess it was worth the insult

I would of also thought you would slow down quicker on gravel. So I am assuming he used the grass because it had more run off?

The diffrence is there was people in other cars on the track with him!!! it may have been a race but trying to overtake as many cars as you can on one corner doesnt work! drop back a bit get round the corner then try and over take on the next easy. but some people just dont care about others on the track.

Fucking behave, when you are racing you overtake every chance that you feel its safe to do so, and that feeling is based on the assumption that you HAVE to make that your car is going to perform as it should, if you went into every bend gingerly wondering if the brakes would work then there is fuck all point entering a race and you should stick to trackdays!

amen your starting to understand the concept not 100 mph into the corner undertake eveyone on the track stamp hard on break turn corner try and keep control of car, then watch the others overtake you again.

im looking on you tube at some of norris other crash ive seen better driving with the under 7 on a gokart track lol atleast they no what a racing line is and how to control a kart smoothly

seriously you should get your husband or who ever he is to you some driving instructor for the day.

I understand the concept fully, its you that doesnt.

He DID feel it was a safe speed to enter the corner, as it was on previous laps, he had no way of knowing that this lap a safe speed was about 50mph less as he had no brakes.

which bit of that arent you getting, cause im sure i can explain the tricky bit for you in more detail.

strike that...edit

i wouldn't blame him(as its a split second judgement) for it but it would seem taking the grass on the right which has you crossing over the track again was the wrong decision.
