thats a good point..but they will just go into another warren..rabbits are animals that are safer in numbers so no chance of not being accepted..thats is of course they find a warren before being eaten..maybe let them loose where there is a warren already there..then if they go underground straight away that will give you some peace of mind

Thank god for that, you have established that freeing a pet into the wild is ridiculous, well done

If your sis thinks letting two domesticated pets loose into the wild is a good thing then i'm surprised they've survived this long whilst in her care tbh. If you were closer then I would have had them tonight

year or so ago we released a white, brown and black rabbit into the wood behind our house, and i see it every now and then when walking the dog....

but this also brings me onto my personel opinion of rabbits, guinea pigs etc, people buy them and novelty soon wears of, now regardless of ehat people say this happens everytime, next thing the rabbit etc just spend a solitude life cooped up in a bit of 3 foot by 2 foot chip board which is more inhumane than the 'pets at home' people who sold it in the first place!!!!

Happens everytime? Speak for your self insted of pigeon holing everyone. As a child I always properly looked after my pets and continue to do so nowadays.

I consider it grossly unfair on the rabbits and shows total lack of thought when getting them in the first place. People doing this really fucks me off. They are tame rabbits and have no chance at all. Tell her not to be so inhumane, there are plaenty of places that will take them on and rehome them properly.

And tell her not to get any more fucking pets!!!

easily sorted, grab the wabbit by the ears, then grab the hind legs and try to make the ears touch the legs by bending it backwards. quickest way to break the neck that is.

wabbits are also easily skinned and once gutted can be cooked on the bone.

very easy to cook with too, and taste very nice.

so there we go, im surpised they are not already in a stew etc by the time this lot says your sis is going to hell for even thinking about letting them loose lol

Has anyone had experience with the RSPCA or shelters? I found a rabbit in the street a few years back and I took it to three shelters AND the RSPCA.

None of them would take it. They suggested, an ad in the paper, an ad on local radio and even keeping it.

I wouldn't condone dropping them off at the New Forest but you'll probably find it's really difficult to get a shelter to take them.
